Happy Birthday Maestro!

The 150th Anniversary of the birth of Giacomo Puccini is celebrated on 22nd December through an extraordinary concert by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Miguel Gomez-Martinez at Teatro del Giglio of Lucca. It is the final date with the Puccini celebrations, set up by the National Committee for Puccini Celebrations.

Manon Lescaut will debut at Teatro del Giglio with a new production on Friday 21st November at 8:30 pm, and will be rerun on Saturday 22nd November at 8:30 and Sunday 23rd November at 4:00 pm.

La rondine will have its first performance on Friday 19 September at 20.30 in a new production at the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca and will be repeated on Sunday 21 September at 20.30

The profile of Giacomo Puccini, together with lettering for the 150th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini, 1858 – 2008, is the logo for the official events in the programme for the celebrations dedicated to the composer. The image was created by Provincia di Lucca, which is going to organize and support the whole communication campaign for the promotion of the events linked with the Maestro and his land during the year, a very rich calendar drawn up under the aegis of the National Committee and with collaboration by the major institutions operating within the Province
